These days psychologists and social workers of many states are much anxious about the state of mind of rising generation. Sociological surveys witness that every day more and more teens get into despondency and become inclined to commit self-murder. This deplorable situation may be explained by the feelings of solitude, incomprehension and neglect from the side of parents and peers. Teens, although, find comfort and conciliation in different subcultures like emo, punks, goth and so on.
You can hear an abundance of complaints from the side of grown-ups and educationalists about the noxious influence on the teenagers' mind of such subcultures. There're, however, teenage psychologists that assert that these youth formations facilitate teenagers go through everyday stresses and life extremities. Let's take emo subculture as a sample. Notwithstanding the existing public opinion that emo young people are hostile, these boys and girls display much deference to everybody irrespective of their race or religious beliefs. Only think how courageous emo young people are to be in opposition to the norms of community by means of look and emo clothing. Very often citizens might be shocked by the way emo boys and girls dress: both boys and girls dress tight-fitting dark jeans with colored waist-belts, small shirts, sportive shoes, varied thongs and pins, long black jackets and a bag in the back. Teenage psychologists say that such a non-typical style of looking and dressing up facilitate teens express themselves unreservedly.
To add, it's not merely clothes and appearance that differ emo boys and girls from the rest mass of people but especially their psychological state. You might easily distinguish emo girl from the rest teens because of her extraordinary sensitivity and timidity. They are sincere and very emotive. Strong feelings of infatuation and sensitivity discern emo boys from other teenagers. It is quite different feelings, although, which vary from the feelings average citizens have used to. Acuteness discerns the feelings of emo guys and if, for example, they do not get reciprocal feelings or commendation of other people, they may get into dejection. Psychologists state that typical teens (who don't belong to any formation or youth subculture) in such situations retreat into themselves that may lead to frequent self-murder. Emo boys and girls are not afraid to share their thoughts and problems with one another, they do not hide their true feelings deep inside. So, is there any reason to forbid your child to communicate or to become a part of any youth subculture? In this respect teenage psychologists recommend grown-ups and educationalists to approve the desire of their offspring to join some youth subculture or a youth group and give teens the feasibility free self-expression.
